hey intrigue, did you get a fix for your site yet? i didn’t send ftp details, partly because i want to know how to fix it myself… not a big fan of someone just logging into my site and making changes right before i’m about to go live with my site… i hope they actual post fix details here…

    Hello,

Was there a solution to this wide spread problem? I tested the latest communit plus template with v1.7 on the weekend with a fresh install and this is still an issue.

    Any assistance is appreciated.

    Thanks

    James

ok guys, this is going to sound really really dumb but I forgot what I did yesterday to my own site to fix the “permissions” issue with the contact form.
as to the mis-display please to go the “category” for contacts and set global to “plain” then it will work for any user after that.

poke me tomorrow after I’ve dreamed on this some and I’ll do my best to stir the cobwebs.

oh, this is not a JA issue btw, “sliders” is the default setting for contact display

    Hi n6rej,

Thanks for looking at this. I would be very interested in your solution as I have tried everything. I have even tried chmod 777 all folders and 666 all files to eliminate permissions as being a problem. Unfortunately, no luck there.

I think this has something to do with validation of the fields on send.

    Thanks

    James

kinda… its not perms, its something inside of contacts itself. I’ve processed about 100 tickets today and been at it for 24hrs so my brain is toast LOL
switch to “plain” and assign a user to that contact us menu entry and tell me if that cures it plz.

    Hi n6rej,

Sounds like you need to take a break. Don’t feel obligated to get right back to me. This can wait.

Under Category –> Options –> Contact, I have set Display Format to ‘Plain’. I also have a contact selected under the menu item in the ‘Select Contact’ field. Still no joy.

    Thanks

    James

    Hi ccoeart 6,

No, I’ve never received a solution for the contact form issue. As a temporary solution, I’ve installed another template and using the contact form from that. I’ve had to customize a bit to make it complimentary to the rest of the site, but it works for now until there is a solution.

Sounds like n8rej is working on it now… Thanks n6rej!
