The Template places a cookie on the computer that is not automatically deleted when ending the session but from the information I get it is stored until December 20th 2009.

Here is the information getting from FF:

    Name: ja_rochea_tpl
    Content: ja_rochea
Host: Host where site is placed on
    Any connection type
Valid until: Sunday, December 20, 2009 1:44:42 AM

Please tell me how to remove this Cookie, how to avoid this cookie from being placed on the user’s computers as there should be no cookies placed that are kept until this date and are not deleted at the end of the browser session.

    Thanks!

    templates/ja_rochea/scripts/ja.script.js

The cookie is set to remain for 365 days by default.

there should be no cookies placed that are kept until this date and are not deleted at the end of the browser session.

Rubbish! The cookie in question stores your visitors template options for the next time they visit. Font size, colour choice, narrow or wide layout, etc. Of course these should be kept longer that the browser session. Look at all the sites you log into (including Joomlart) that have a ‘Remember Me’ option – these all store cookies longer than the browser session.

I do not have to be like Yahoo that places me a cookie valid until 2033 or some other major sites that have ones until the 22nd century….:D

Let’s see, maybe I can simply rename the cookie.

    Thanks anyway!
