I am installing Teline lV.
I am upgrading from 1.5 to 3.3
I have successfully…
– migrated all of my data
– installed the template
– installed Teline plugins, modules and component

Now I have to set up all of the customized modules. I have two versions set up. One full Demo version for reference and one version that contains my migrated data. I was going to simply create each module based on the demo set up but that will take way too long. Is there a way to simply copy the modules from the demo set up into the other set up?
Is it as easy as exporting/importing a DB Table? I was not sure if there might be multiple tables associated with the modules or not.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!

Hi there
Sorry but there is no “easy way” to do that. You’ll need reference with demo site and setup it at your live site.
Or :
– Install new quickstart with latest Joomla! & template you want to use.
– migrate your data from old site to this new one. You would contact 3rd party to do that if you don’t know how to do.
– config your new site as your needed.

Is there a way to use the quick-start AND THEN migrate data from a 1.5 install?
I didn’t think there was. I had read the only way was to install a fresh 3.+ with NO data and then use a migration tool to conver/move all of the data over. That is what I did. Everything is coming together ok it is just very time comsuming and I have at least one additional site to do.

I was hoping all i would need to do is copy a DB table and a folder and i’d be done.

Hi there,
There is no way just migrate data only.
– Migrate data from 1.5 to 3.3
– Apply into new quickstart 🙂

I would suggest you go with 3rd party if it’s so hard for you.
