    Hi Guys,

i have bought the copyright removal. So far so good. Now im renaming the ja_teline_iii template folder due security concerns. This is all covered by the copyright removal package.
But now i wanted to rename the modules as well.
I dont want that someone is looking at the source code and can see ie “mod_jabulletin”. With this he is able to google for it and maybe will be possible to find some glitches or open doors in this module. Thats why i want to rename this to “mod_XXbulletin”. But i dont know if this is also allowed. Any suggestions?

    Cheers

I am sure it is allowed but why? Simply renaming things for security is not the best choice. Almost every hacker will not search that way and will use other methods.

IMHO, you are wasting a lot of your own time and effort doing this.

Yeah i have seen that it is a lot of work…
Well i just only thought about this step to prevent searching for possible bugs on a website.
What could you advise to prevent or reduce such things?

Search google for details of how to use .htacces files to prevent indexing of those files. If the module is coded well (and most are) then there should be no problem security wise.

Make sure you always keep your Joomla and any third pary PHP apps up to date and always take regular backups. That is the most important thing you should do on any website.
