G’day,
After I purchase membership, how do I buy the copyright removal for a template?
Hopefully the question can be answered quickly so I can become the newest member 😀

March 26, 2009 at 10:11 pm #298326I am not sure, I no longer have a standard membership to check what it says… but if I remember correctly, the option to purchase the copyright removal was in my Member Area after I bought the standard membership.
Another option is the Developer Membership if you think you will be making many sites. The copyright removal is included in that.

March 28, 2009 at 12:18 am #298609I can disable the footer with the copyright information. I have not violated the Copyright information because i have not made any changes to the Copyright information.
I can then make a new HTML box and place this in the footer area and put in my copyright information and links… Of Cause not claiming i made the template.

March 28, 2009 at 3:30 am #298630Normally it is not about if you make changes to the codes or not, it is about to display the footer with the copyright information or not. Removing the footer not to display the copyright is same as removing the codes from it, the copyright and “Designed by Joomlart.com” note is not more displayed in both cases.
This is normally applying in such cases, does sound like common sense, doesn’t it?

March 28, 2009 at 11:05 am #298672But.. Should it not be “Design by Joomlart removal” instead?
Joomlart can never have Copyright on pages though I’m the one setting in the information and not Joomlart?
When i say Copyright I mean the information on all the pages, not the template design.
I have never taken credit on making templates made by Joomlart.
The hole Copyright removal stuff is still all together confusing.

March 28, 2009 at 5:50 pm #298710You also could submit a support ticket and ask directly. This way it really goes faster to get an official reply and you may be assured the information you get is 100% correct.

Well, if joomlart.com allows to remove its “design by joomlart.com” then who’s gonna buy the copyright removal kit or developer licences . :p . I am not sure but when i joined joomlart way back in 06, it was a accepted standard to use “developed by….” and we were not allowed to use “designed by us”.
Design copyright is certainly Joomlart.com property as we buy the usage rights, for removal rights or self branding, one needs the developer licence or copyright removal kit.Don’t forget we all are in commercial template club, and revenue generation plays a major role in policy formulation.

May 4, 2009 at 3:38 pm #303463Hi,
Joomlart’s copyright IS in the code, like all other software. The footer of a site belongs to the owner of the site not Joomlart. This is why we buy templates. Free templates want you to leave the footer with there link. The footer and any other parts of the site that are visible to the public should be in the site owners control only.

May 6, 2009 at 9:44 pm #303845I must admit, this whole copyright thing has me a little annoyed.
First off — let me explain that I fully respect the fact that there is a cost to remove the joomla copyright information on the template. I understand that the people who spend many hours creating templates, etc must be paid for it somehow.
As a member who is a newbie with Joomla, I am very happy to spend what amounts to small amounts of money to create my own website — a website that would have cost many thousands of dollars to pay someone to build.
That being said — why not just charge $100 for the template and include the copyright removal permission?
This is just a suggestion to Joomla. I don’t have a problem spending the additonal dollars, it just seems and feels like a bit of a money grab to have to buy it as a seperate item, KNOWING that there are others who are removing it ‘illegally’.
Make EVERYONE pay up front for the copyright removal permissions, therefore the overall spread cost for the permission could be lower for those of us who are ethical enough to want to pay for it in the first place.
That is my complaint for the day. 🙂

June 25, 2009 at 3:15 am #309020It seems the question about removing copyright text for Dev club packages it still in open status. If I buy developer package from Joomlart.com is there copyright text available at the footer of website? Do I need to buy ‘copyright removal package’?
