October 7, 2009 at 4:45 am #144955Well — My site is going out in a newsletter tomorrow and I’ve been doing some slight tweaking. I have ie8 installed and ff 3.5. All was well until I decided to download IEtester — This shows that in IE 7 the site looks like :
Obviously the visual appearance seems to be trashed — however, I also noticed it will not add products to cart correctly as well. It will pop the ajax “added to cart” but when you actually go to show cart there is nothing listed.
Now, since I only have IEtester installed instead of an actually copy of IE7 I was wondering if someone out there with IE7 can verify it actually looks like this. I tried to install IE7 and will not allow me to do so since IE8 is already on this machine. IF it is trashed anyone have any idea what would cause this issue as the site looks fine and adds to cart tine in FF, IE6 and IE8.

October 7, 2009 at 5:36 am #319706Hi,
I checked via the IE tester and in that under IE7 the site does look like the screenshot
but when i used compatibility mode under IE 8 equ to the IE7 site – it shows up correct. Now another issue I found when in IE 8 is the shopping cart on top – it appears to the left – while it actually should be on the right.

October 7, 2009 at 5:45 am #319707Both those issues should be fixed now — I’m not sure how it happend but it seemed the IE 7 => 8 fix was missing from teh index.php file. I don’t know how the hell that could of happend. I ended up replacing the index.php with an unedited version, putting in the fix and it appears to loads correctly now.
However, it keep showing an old graphic at bottom left which it should not (in ie7) … Though that’s not a big deal I can live with that for now. I also noticed when trying to view the larger product image IE7 is not using the lightbox feature, instead it’s opening up a new window with the image /sigh …
Again 2 steps forward 1 step back — I dont know about anyone else but when I have an issue it’s ALWAYS IE — makes me want to go down to microshaft and beat the hell out of someone sometimes lol.
Thanks for looking Prbalge appreciate it, especially this late 😉

I think they updated all the templates with the ie 7 => 8 fix … Now I’ve got to track down this lightbox problem with ie 7 >:(
There are some nights I really wish I did not quit smoking.
