I guess I am still a bit confused as to why you are trying to install these from a “custom folder” when you can have them installed automatically for you via using the quickstart installation with installing the sample data as well.
At this point, is there any reason why you could not start from scratch and utilize the quickstart installation + sample data install for JA Social J1.7 – as this will give you everything you are wanting … all in one installation step.

October 7, 2011 at 1:56 pm #417525I am in the same perdicament as Sakthi… although my Quickstart package says the same as the themes… “Cannot find XML setup file” I asked for support help and they uploaded some random template, not the ones in the package. I’ve tried manually uploading them and still no good. I’m hoping for a solution through this thread.

October 7, 2011 at 2:40 pm #417531Hi 219com
Could you be more clear ? what you have uploaded on your site?
Thanks
October 7, 2011 at 3:23 pm #417550Sorry, I am attempting to upload JA Social. In the package it includes all the individual files, including the themes the previous person was talking about as well as the quickstart folder being refereed to in this thread as well.
I attempted to upload the quickstart folder first and it continues to give me the No XML error so I attempted to upload each piece individually and I get everything except the themes to load. They also come back with the no XML error.
I’ve tried uploading them straight to my files and that doesn’t work.Thank you

October 7, 2011 at 3:40 pm #417556Hi
I’m sorry but i think there was something you miss in the various steps i have made hundreds of installation with the quickstart package always without any error
<blockquote>I attempted to upload the quickstart folder first and it continues to give me the No XML error </blockquote>
Sorry but i have to do these questions to you
1) jatc_social_j17.zip. This is the file with the quickstart folder ( have you extracted the files, before to upload all on your web folder ? )
October 7, 2011 at 3:58 pm #417559Yes I have extracted them and in the quickstart and even separate I still get the error with the themes.
This is an image of the folder with Quickstart as a folder and as a zip file.
I unziped it, I see the Joomla.xml file there, so I rezipped it and am attempting to upload it to the site now through the Joomla installer.
