April 18, 2012 at 1:41 pm #448899Hi wrinasellers,
If you are referring to the little CPANEL tab on T3 framework templates, you can turn that off by going to your template and clicking the Profiles tab to make it active. Then under User Tools, set all options to Hide.

May 2, 2012 at 10:00 pm #451132CPanel still shows on front of site even after ‘Hiding” all of the User tools. Changes to font size are also recorded as saved but when the Template manager is reopened the changes did not remain. JA Anion Joomla 2.5.4 I have changed the CHMOD on the Templates Directory to 755 from 705 thinking it might be a permissions issue. Other changes like setting the theme color worked fine. Is there any way to find and change or disable these settings in the CSS or other file??

May 2, 2012 at 10:08 pm #451135Hi ncvalkdude
From your template manager go to the LAYOUTS Tab and edit the default layout
Remove this part of code
<block name=”cpanel” type=”usertools/cpanel”></block>
If you still cannot save your changes then from your global configuration system tabs enable your ftp user ( insert into your info to access to the site with an ftp client )

May 13, 2012 at 8:19 pm #452875Rather than removing it, you might find that if you clear the t3 cache and then clear your browser cache (including favorites data), you should see the cpanel go away.
Here are some other tips:
The other thing to make note of is that the cpanel and other selectable overrides will automatically be selected if you create a new profile by cloning another one it will take the overrides with it. Maybe I could make that more clear:
The Global profile will have all of the options “selected” with green checks to the right. When you create a new profile by cloning the default one, all of the items will be selected, which means that their settings here will override those set on the default profile. So if you go and disable the cpanel (or make other changes) at the default profile, they will still be overridden by whatever is in each profile selections.
To get around this, you can
a. change the settings at each profile that you create
OR
b. when you clone the dafault profile, make sure that in the new one you deselect all of the overrides. This way changes at the default profile will cascade down AND you can then clone THIS profile to create your other ones and they will all be set to take the default profile settings. This will allow you to set the defaults for everything at the default profile and the only time you have to worry about changing anything in a profile is when you specifically want to override something for that ONE profile.
I hope this adds something.

May 14, 2012 at 1:28 pm #452980Thanks Scott, I’ll keep this reply for future reference. This CPanel tab is useful during development to show clients some options but after they choose the parameters I think its a cute distraction from the site’s message and most of my clients agree. Thanks again.

May 28, 2012 at 2:50 pm #455243I find that the cpanel can also be used to make sure that pages are using the profile and layout I’m expecting. By taking them out at the xml layout file, it’s a paind to get them back for later development if I want to turn them back on. By simply turning them off, they can be toggled back on with a click.
Hope that’s helpful.
