I want to create a new Photo Gallery module but I cannot find it in the Module Manager > Module:New.

There’s the JA Slideshow 2 module but I really want the Photo Gallery. How can I add it so I can put a different set of pictures on a different page than the Front Page.

    Thanks,
    Helene

After clicking on New button, look for “JA Slideshow2 Module” and you can create new instance of the slideshow module.

What “Photo Gallery” are you looking for? Where do you want these pictures and how do you want them displayed?

I want to use the same Photo Gallery module as on the Front Page (see my version in thumbnail) but in a different article/page so that the pictures relate to just that section (i.e. hotel rooms).

That’s why I was looking for the Photo Gallery module in the MODULE MANAGER > MODULE:NEW to create that new Photo Gallery.

    Thanks for adivising,
    Helene

IIRC (and I have not got an install to be 100% sure) that is just a custom html module. Take a look in the quickstart for it and you will find a custom html module setup to display that gallery.

I don’t know what “IIRC” means but I looked through all the modules in Quickstart and I couldn’t find anything there.

But I went to the Joomla extension website and found a developer who created 2 modules: Gallery View and Slider Gallery. Each one has 2 styles and it’s exactly what I was looking for. It also includes a “single” photo option so when you click on thumbnail, it pops up larger (i.e. like your thumbnails in these posts.

I’ve installed and immediately started using. Super easy and instructions are clear:

    Thanks Phill !

Great stuff and thanks for the tip on the extension. Looks very neat and a lot easier to use than the method employed in this module.

IIRC = If I Remember Correctly.

I’ll mark your thread as solved. Be sure to show off your finished work in the showcase forum.

Hi have just installed Gallery View but cannot find the module/mod_slidergallery/gallery to upload the images into. Can you advise where it is?

Gallery View is not one of our extensions so you are probably going to get better answers from its authors site – http://yashvyas.in/extensions/

Its right there in the module directory… FTP to your main module directory click on the mod_slidergallery folder and you should see the gallery one level below. All you have to do then is upload your images.
