Hi, forgive me as I’m very new to Joomla!

My existing website has an outdated template on it at the moment. I don’t want to have to make changes to the site while it’s live as it comes under quite a bit of scrutiny and attention.

Is there a way I can duplicate all my existing content and customise my Simpli template in sort of a ‘test’ mode, i.e. not ‘live’, so that it’s just a case of switching over to the new site when it’s ready?

Hello

Install on your live website the Akeeba backup component , take a full backup of your website.

Install on your local WAMP or XAAMP then install on your local the akeeba backup copy you cloned of your live website , when you updated everything then take a new backup of your local and move it live using Akeeba .
