Joomlart isn’t using Ajax at all, but there are some very good extensions or also some custom codes one can also integrate in any Joomla or even Magento site that work with Ajax. This is surely also because of the big mootools hype and the really not so exciting JQuery usage. But anyway, you can integrate such a loader into any JS too, just anywhere where normally the extensions loads somethings while already displaying the body or frame of the extension. Makes a lot of sites more dynamic from the visual standpoint,rather then seeing nothing while the content loads.
