September 12, 2013 at 8:09 am #505510Hi
3 hours to create db tables appears to be a very long time , probably there was some problem with your hosting server
Start again your installation creating a new db and a new user with all the privileges to manage the db

September 12, 2013 at 8:12 am #505512Hi abrussalis,
It seems that the quickstart installation is getting an problem in importing the installation sample data into the database on your hosting. In this case, I suggest you to cancel the installation and try to install this quickstart again on the localhost first, them move the website to your remote server on hosting then. You can refer this tip to upload the Joomla website from local host to remote server at http://www.ostraining.com/blog/joomla/how-to-move-a-jomla-site-from-local-to-live-server/

September 16, 2013 at 3:48 pm #505965DB problem solved. I had to edit the index file of the installation:
/httpdocs/FolderName/installation/index.php
session_save_path(“/var/www/vhosts/mydomain/httpdocs/FOLDERNAME/tmp”);
The installation is complete.
I choosed to enter the sample English data so i can rebuild the site. After everything finished. Even the extra languages setup, i choosed to see the frontpage instead of the admin page. I get this error…
0 … DateTime::__construct(): Failed to parse time string (jerror) at position 0 (j): The timezone could not be found in the databasePlease try one of the following pages:
Home Page
What i am doing now?:((
and thanks for your answers guys 🙂
EDIT: Even from admin backend when i go to compoments and choose JA extension i get the same error. and an option to return to control panel… Should i install again the timeline plugin?

September 17, 2013 at 3:46 am #506013Hi abrussalis,
You know the media resources (image/video) on our template demo are the licensed media files under the copyrighted agreements, so that we can’t import these files into the quickstart package. That is the reason why we replace with the blank images with similar size, you need to replace the blank images with your own ones.

JA Lens is a template which we use the article content data since the first release in May 2012, so that there will no existing articles in 2013 displayed if you don’t create any new articles from this time.Spell FriendSpell

Thats the problem. I created some new articles and never showed up like in 2011 – 12 grid.. Tried editing some of 2012 articles and then change the date to correspond to this month and date and nothing happened. I deleted everything from demo content that was on the frontpage grid and then i had my first articles in 2013 to show up in the grid layout. I am not complaining, i am just writing the ”solution path” i took for other people that may have similar problems.
Hopefully i will never post again a problem 🙂
