I’m not sure if either pseudocron or system CRON is working. Job alerts are not getting sent out either way. We currently have system CRON set up and have tried the following two approaches:

I don’t know if there is any other way to see if CRON jobs overall are working, or if it is actually just a problem with job alerts specifically.

    Hi Brent,

I have fixed this issue on your site. I did modified these files:
    components/com_jajobboard/helper/jafunctions.class.php
    components/com_jajobboard/helper/jb.cron.php

    Please check again.

Thanks, and it appears to be working! I have two quick questions:

    1) How often are they supposed to go out? I saw a time stamp for “lastest_sendmail” at 2014-03-31 16:37:02, and it didn’t change again until 2014-03-31 20:52:08. That’s a strange interval of 4 hours and 15 minutes 6 seconds….

    2) As you can see in my first post, I have two CRON jobs set up. Can you tell me which is correct so I can delete the other one?

    Thanks!!

I have checked this function again, cron tab does not run properly because there is a discrepancy between PHP time() function and Joomla Datetime function. So, I updated the function to manage cron tab to use all Joomla datetime functions for consistence, it seems to work properly now.

<blockquote>1) How often are they supposed to go out?</blockquote>
And cron tab to send new job notification run daily.

Regarding the #2nd question, if you enable Pseudo Cron job mode, then the cron job will be checked on every user request. This mode is useful if you do not know how to create system cron tab.

If you disable Pseudo cron job mode in Jobboard back-end, then you need to create system cron tab (as you did) to run the link that we provided in back-end.

So, in your case, if you have created a cron tab in your server, then you need disable Pseudo cron job mode in Jobboard.
