Hi
the module already have the transparent color .
You have to create a new module position under the slideshow.php file , in the same container or publish your module under the slideshow position , i will help to via css class to move the module on the slideshow images .
At this time both module are on different positions and using their own containers .

Hi I added below code in custom.css file in the line1

@media screen and (min-width: 768px) {
.t3-sl-1 {
    position: absolute;
    top: 200px;
    z-index: 9999;
}}

now you can see the spotlight position is over the slideshow module : http://prntscr.com/d75by2 If you do not want to do this for spotlight block . you can create a new module , publish it under the slideshow position and apply the same css style on it .
