    Hi

Well… after unistalling the template and plugin and reinstalling it again, I think I can identify the problem.

I have t3 and t3-assets folders under the cache folder, and these were automatically installed by JAT3. There isn’t a t3-assets folder in the root directory until I create one, and then it is populated with files automatically and combining & minimising files does occur. But when I clear the t3 cache from the admin panel, it deletes the folder and I have to create one again.

This only happens on my main domain and not in the dev domain, so I’m sure it’s not a bug but something else. I have asked Rochen to turn the APC caching off.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks
    Carl

    Hi capeinfo,

I am afraid i can’t help you on that! This is more about Rochen to help you, but i can only guess that your account might need some server admin assistance, like chown your folder ( every account we have on a server it’s just a folder and the owner of that folder is our username )

I hope that helps your issues to be solved!

    Regards

    Hi Manos

You were right! 🙂 Rochen changed ownerships (permissions were all ok) and the problem with the t3-assets field went away. BUT, the time-to-first-byte and start render times went up horribly. I’m still trying to find out what causes that.

Well…that sounds like DNS issue to me.

    Hi Manos

Thanks for all your patience (and I love your site, btw).

I asked Rochen to disable APC and enable suPHP. Things are looking better – first byte time is 700ms but start render is 5.3secs.

Minimised & compressed files are being stored in /t3-assets/ but they also being stored in /cache/t3/ where there is another empty /t3-assets/ folder too.

My permissions there are 755 for folders and 644 for files, and the ownership of all files is the correct 511 511 now. In Gobal configuration, the cache setting is “on” and set to files. Is that incorrect?

Yes that sounds correct, i guess that the /cache/t3/ folder is for ja modules but i am not quite sure about it.
