I enabled CSS and JS optimation and created a work folder called ‘cssjsoptimization’. The folder is slowly getting bigger and bigger, now with over 90 files and over 17mb in size. I can’t say that the site renders/responds any faster as a result.

Why does the system keep writing new files to the folder? How can optimiztion be of any benefit when the system has to continually create/write out files?

What has the site gained – would it be just as well to disable optimization?

    Hi,

Optimization is giving your website a boost on loading time etc but also you must be aware that server side modules such as gzip must be enabled in order for this to work otherwise you might even get slower response times from your web page.

You must try different options/settings to see what works best on your web server.

    Regards
