    Hi there,

I have just this morning purchased your S3 component.

Initially I had 2 issues, 1 that I’ve now resolved in addition to a new issue that could be related.:

    1. Issue with the ‘Japan’ Region which threw an error on the page when trying to create or edit a bucket. I resolved this quickly following your forum post and commenting out the particular line, so thank you for that.
    2. CURL – I still have an error on the page in the backend of Joomla. The error is: <blockquote>Warning: curl_setopt() [function.curl-setopt]: CURLOPT_FOLLOWLOCATION cannot be activated when in safe_mode or an open_basedir is set in … /httpdocs/administrator/components/com_jaamazons3/lib/cloudfusion.2.6/lib/requestcore/requestcore.class.php on line 627</blockquote>

Just to confirm, I have CURL enabled and working in other applications (community builder for example) and have doubly checked in system info to see that it is all loaded correctly and it is fine.

I have successfully set-up 2 profiles – 1 for downloads and the other for streaming media each linked to it’s own bucket/cloudfront domain.

I uploaded all of the files from the directory on my server called ‘songs’ including all sub-directories and can confirm that they are all in the database now and all exist in the bucket however, when I go to the front-end of the website to play one of the albums, clicking play on any of the 6 songs will begin playing the same song. Similarly, on another album, only one of it’s songs will play no matter which song you click on.

As I said, each of the 82 files have been added to the database, each with what appear to be unique ID strings so I am very unsure what is wrong here. Please help?

Hope that this is straight forward.

    Thanks,

    Geraint

    Hello mate,

I have installed the latest version of JA Amazon S3 component for your site and CURL issue is resolved now.
Please give a link to specific album for further checking playing songs issue since I don’t find it on home page.

    Hi mate,

Thanks for you reply. Sorry I didn’t put in the link.

I just checked to see if they worked but unfortunately all songs still play the same mp3.

    here are the links:
    https://www.learnthrusong.co.uk/music-room/project/streetcare-rct/album/the-envirovision-song-quest-2010

clicking any of the songs will play the last song ‘Nature’s Health Is On The Brink’. Similarly, on the backing track version of the same album, clicking any of them will also play the backing track version of ‘Nature’s Health Is On The Brink’.

I also tried deleting all of the files from the bucket that holds all of the streaming media, uploaded them again and updated the links to the database but still same problem exists.

Just a shot in the dark here – could this be anything to do with the fact there’s an (‘) apostrophe in the name?

By the way, here are the cloudfront links I can see from the backend of the S3 component when viewing remote files that seem to be fine.

This is the link to the song that plays on the above album page no matter which song is selected:
    http://s1r8tpzo0b13tx.cloudfront.net/ev-rct10/s/06%20Nature%27s%20Health%20is%20on%20the%20Brink.mp3

For example, if you click play on the first song on the alum, ‘We Are The Future’, it should play the following file from cloudfront:
    http://s1r8tpzo0b13tx.cloudfront.net/ev-rct10/s/01%20We%20are%20the%20Future.mp3

but instead it seems to play the one above as below:
    http://s1r8tpzo0b13tx.cloudfront.net/ev-rct10/s/06%20Nature%27s%20Health%20is%20on%20the%20Brink.mp3

Also worth noting is that when I click on the remote file in the backed of component, it opens a white page with the above CloudFront Links however, they aren’t encoded in the browser as they appear in the email, i.e.

    http://s1r8tpzo0b13tx.cloudfront.net/ev-rct10/s/01%20We%20are%20the%20Future.mp3 would look like:
    http://s1r8tpzo0b13tx.cloudfront.net/ev-rct10/s/01 We are the Future.mp3

Don’t know whether this may be relevant or not.

Also, on other albums, and on the individual song for the page, the player doesn’t work, i.e. clicking play does nothing.
    Examples:
    Album: https://www.learnthrusong.co.uk/music-room/project/road-safety-npt/album/songdrive-2009
    Song: https://www.learnthrusong.co.uk/music-room/project/streetcare-rct/the-envirovision-song-quest-2010/song/we-are-the-future

Hope that the extra info helps and Thanks so much for the response.

    Best wishes,

    Geraint

Sorry for more info but just in case it helps…

I the mp3s are loaded as swf’s into the player that I use which is part of a component called Music Collection.

    Cheers,

    Hi mate,

found this whilst I was poking around for potential solutions or pointers…

    https://forums.aws.amazon.com/thread.jspa?threadID=66763

Think this could be related given that the files in question are being streamed?

Just to confirm, my cloudfront distribution is set to streaming.

    Many Thanks,

    Geraint

    HI Geraint,

Saturday and Sunday the office is closed, so the dev is not online today. I have left msg for him to attend to your query asap. If not, then monday morning, it would be sorted out.

    Regards

    Hi Arvind & Thanhnv,

Sorry to hassle you about this but I wonder have there been any developments?

I’m really close to finishing a project that requires me to get a new album up on the site as soon as possible…

By the way, I don’t seem to be getting email replies to this thread even though I have subscribed to it, any thoughts?

    Thanks again,

    Geraint

    hi again,

I found this forum post on the AWS site that may help (posts near the bottom of the page seem to get a bit nearer a resolution).

Incidentally, the player that they refer to, ‘JW Player’ is in fact the same as the one that is part of my music player application. hope this may be of some use:

    Hi Guys

    It seems to be fixed???

Sorry, as I saw no reply in the ticket or forum, I thought that it hadn’t been looked at.

I noticed that there was no cloudfront specified for the streaming bucket that holds the content so I updated it to the new cloudfront distribution that I set up yesterday to replace the old one.

This still seems to work though.

What did you do to get it working???

    Many thanks,

    Geraint

    Hi again,

Sorry – I was wrong about it working with the CloudFront domain set in the bucket preferences – the config hadn’t save. This is clearly an issue relating to the fact that there is a CloudFront distribution set on the bucket…

I need it to be able to use cloudfront in order that I can stream effectively

Please can you help with this?

    Many thanks,

    Geraint

No, I temporarily disable “media” profile.
I can’t fix it without FTP account.

    Hi mate,

sorry, the reason that I thought it was strange that I had a response from you and that you wanted FTP credentials was that I made a mistake posting reply *11 (above).

As soon as I’d posted it, I re-checked the config of the bucket, cleared my browsing cache and reloaded the page and it worked. I thought that I’d deleted that reply but it couldn’t have worked I guess.

    All seems to work now…

    Do you still need access?

    Thanks again!!!!

    Geraint
