    Perhaps I didn´t explained well,…la template es la JA Nex. The client want this template but without the “music news” module (with the photo of militar men in front page). He want that the first module (JA News) have the size of both, stretching to the right. I don´t have the template in another site because I want to buy it. I tried to change the size of the module in the administrator and changing some styles in firebug but did not work. I don’t want to buy the template and after can’t or don’t know how to change it!!!

    Please see is this solution is working,

    Extensions —–>Template Manager———->Layouts———–>Default—>Edit

    <?xml version=”1.0″ encoding=”utf-8″?>
    <layout name=”desktop”>
    <!–Extra css load for this layout–>
    <stylesheets>
    </stylesheets>
    <blocks name=”top” style=”xhtml”>
    <block name=”absolute” type=”modules” style=”raw”>absolute</block>
    <block name=”cpanel” type=”usertools/cpanel”></block>
    <block name=”top-panel” type=”modules” style=”raw” main-inner=”1″>top-panel</block>
    <block name=”topmenu” type=”topmenu” ></block>
    <block name=”header” type=”header” ></block>
    <block name=”mainnav” type=”mainnav” ></block>
    <block name=”topbar” type=”topbar”></block>
    <block name=”breadcrums” type=”breadcrums”></block>
    <block name=”slideshow” type=”modules” main-inner=”1″>slideshow</block>
    <block name=”topsl1″ type=”spotlight” special=”left” specialwidth=”70″ main-inner=”1″ >sl1-1,sl1-2,sl1-3</block>
    <block name=”topsl2″ main-inner=”1″>slider</block>
    <block name=”topsl3″ type=”spotlight” main-inner=”1″>user1,user2,user3,user4</block>
    </blocks>
    <blocks name=”middle” colwidth=”25″ main-inner=”1″>
    <block name=”content-mass-top”>content-mass-top</block>
    <block name=”content-mass-bottom”>content-mass-bottom</block>
    <block name=”inset2″>left</block>
    <block name=”right1″>right</block>
    </blocks>
    <blocks name=”bottom” style=”xhtml”>
    <block name=”botsl” type=”spotlight” wrap-inner=”1″ >user5,user6,user7,user8</block>
    <block name=”botsl1″ type=”spotlight” main-inner=”1″ wrap-inner=”1″>menu-footer</block>
    <block name=”botsl2″ type=”spotlight” special=”left” specialwidth=”75″ main-inner=”1″ >foot-left,foot-right</block>
    <block name=”footer” type=”footer” ></block>
    </blocks>
    </layout>

    UNPUBLISH sl1-2 MODULE POSITION or remove it from here.

    <block name=”topsl1″ type=”spotlight” special=”left” specialwidth=”70″ main-inner=”1″ >sl1-1,sl1-2,sl1-3</block>

    WIDTH is controlling by specialwidth=”70″ for me.
    try and let me know about the result.

    Thanks

    I want to do the same thing but I cant change anything on the template folder (by ftp).
    Do I need some permision from joomlart to do that? Is the folder protected?

    No, you have to go to the administrador in Extensions>Template manager>JA_Nex (default)>>Layouts label, look Default > Edit. There are the same parameters for to change the sl1-1 or sl1-2 positions. Is not necessary to go through FTP. If not, maybe you have to look at your file permissions.

    That is the problem im having.
    I cant access to modify anything at the template folder. Could it be a problem with my membresy? Joomlarts includes some kind of restriction on the template folder permision?

    No, you have permission problems. Change your file permission to 777 meanwhile you do changes (in FTP, left button over the file). After return permission as they were. If you can’t change permission is a problem with your hosting, you will have to contact them.

    I do not know if Joomlart have any restriction or blockage in their templates. I have not worked in a file that I can’t be changed. Joomla 2.5 is complicated and even more with a template with T3. We must study it and to me is still more difficult because there isn’t tutorial in Spanish.

    <blockquote>I do not know if Joomlart have any restriction or blockage in their templates</blockquote>

    Hi

    No restrictions are applied to joomlart templates all downloaded files are free to use or modify as you wish or need

    The problem is related to permissions on files and not to joomlart files ( i cannot modify files if i haven’t the right permission to do )
