From what you say and what I look, it seems you are trying to edit a module. My only guess would be to create a new class for the module. But im not sure if there’s another idea lying around eek:

Well, Im adding a tutorial here so you could do a bit of reading, I think besides the tutorials this might help you. Now, Im not good at joomla coding, and unfortunately I havent had enough time to do some testing as I’m working in a server backup atm.

A code like this in the joomla class php file : background: transparent url(‘../images/imagfile.png’) repeat-x 0 100%;
line-height: 29px;

will bring the image of the line as a separator. if you use it under .componentheading { (or .moduletable a:link or something) (sorry for the lack of accuracy) then it will work as a separator of the header or title of the content or module I guess. Perhaps you could try to insert it under the link class.

Solved my problem by installing module latestnewsplusdate from the official joomla exptensions
Works like a charm. Date and separator included.
