August 7, 2008 at 12:14 pm #264309Should it not be :
$month = date(“F”);
instead of
$month = date(“M”);
‘M’ is for ‘Jan’, ‘Feb’ ect.

October 21, 2008 at 5:35 pm #276474Hi.. I’m new at this. I have the same problem with the month configuration. I had to change it manually. I coudn’t find the right settings here in teh forum.
I also can’t change The Global Configuration time zone to Brazil. It says that I can’t write on configuration.php (I think my server don’t allow it). Is there any way that I can do it manually?
And when I write in portuguese Tuesday (Terça), instead of “ç” I get some japanese letter.
Can someone help me?

November 6, 2008 at 4:33 pm #278327Dear Friend,
You need to abbreviate (make short) the month’s names… I’ve passed the below code to my website template and it has passed…
—qt
<div class=”ja-day”>
<?php
$day = date(“l”);
$daynum = date(“j”);
$month = date(“M”);
$year = date(“Y”);switch($day)
{
case “Monday”: $day = “Poniedziałek”; break;
case “Tuesday”: $day = “Wtorek”; break;
case “Wednesday”: $day = “Środa”; break;
case “Thursday”: $day = “Czwartek”; break;
case “Friday”: $day = “Piątek”; break;
case “Saturday”: $day = “Sobota”; break;
case “Sunday”: $day = “Niedziela”; break;
default: $day = “Onbekend”; break;
}switch($month)
{
case “Jan”: $month = “Sty”; break;
case “Feb”: $month = “Lut”; break;
case “Mar”: $month = “Mar”; break;
case “Apr”: $month = “Kwi”; break;
case “May”: $month = “Maj”; break;
case “Jun”: $month = “Cze”; break;
case “Jul”: $month = “Lip”; break;
case “Aug”: $month = “Sie”; break;
case “Sep”: $month = “Wrz´”; break;
case “Oct”: $month = “Paz”; break;
case “Nov”: $month = “Lis”; break;
case “Dec”: $month = “Gru”; break;
default: $month = “Onbekend”; break;
}echo “<span>”.$day.”</span>”;
echo ” <div>”.date(‘j’).” “.$month.”</div>”; //* To change font, color, etc… go to change the css file at templates/ja_teline_ii/css/template.css -> ja-day *//
echo ” <span>”.date (‘Y’).”</span>”;
?>

November 20, 2008 at 11:16 pm #279824Like many people I suspect it is a little frustrating when part of the login switches with Joomfish and others parts don’t
The answers here have been very helpful – I combined that written here with the php coding to switch with the joomfish language being used. In coding on another thread I picked up an extra closing div tag which throw the top my Teline site out and prevented the joomfish flags sitting in the intended div
This is the combined effort that works on the Teline II template. My example is for Spanish es-es
<div class=”ja-day”>
<!– this element below covers the switching of the day, date between languages using the if switch statement of php – can be extend to include other languages –>
<?php if ($this->language==”es-es”) {
$day = date(“l”);
$daynum = date(“d”);
$month = date(“F”);switch($day)
{
case “Monday”: $day = “Lunes”; break;
case “Tuesday”: $day = “Martes”; break;
case “Wednesday”: $day = “Miércoles”; break;
case “Thursday”: $day = “Jueves”; break;
case “Friday”: $day = “Viernes”; break;
case “Saturday”: $day = “Sábado”; break;
case “Sunday”: $day = “Domingo”; break;
default: $day = “”; break;
}switch($month)
{
case “January”: $month = “Eno”; break;
case “February”: $month = “Feb”; break;
case “March”: $month = “Mar”; break;
case “April”: $month = “Abr”; break;
case “May”: $month = “May”; break;
case “June”: $month = “Jun”; break;
case “July”: $month = “Jul”; break;
case “August”: $month = “Ago”; break;
case “September”: $month = “Sept”; break;
case “October”: $month = “Oct”; break;
case “November”: $month = “Nov”; break;
case “December”: $month = “Dic”; break;
default: $month = “”; break;
}echo “<span>”.$day.”</span>”;
echo ” <div>”.$month.” “.$daynum.”</div>”; //* tPara cambiar la fuente, el color, etc… debes modificar la plantilla css templates/ja_teline_ii/css/template.css -> ja-day *//}
?>
<?php if ($this->language==”en-gb”) {
echo “<span>”.date (‘l’).”</span>”;
echo ” <div>”.date (‘M’).” “.date (‘d’).date (‘S’).”</div>”;
}
?>
</div>To get the Text size to switch over to your required language you use the if else statement
<?php if ($tmpTools->getParam(JA_TOOL_USER)) { ?>
<div id=”ja-usertools”>
<?php//section for switching the language of text size on an if else php – original was <strong>Text size</strong> as seen in the echo
if ($this->language==”es-es”)
echo ” <strong>Tamaño texto</strong>”;
else
echo “<strong>Text size</strong>”;
?>I have used the same if else statement to switch the text logo over
<p class=”site-slogan”><?php
if ($this->language==”es-es”)
echo ” cuándo usted necesita para saber “;
elseecho $sloganText;?></p>
