I uploaded quickstart to a subfolder of my root. Went to the URL and began the installation. Got to the Database Configuration and I can’t get past it. It won’t log me into the site. I keep getting the following…

“Unable to connect to the database:Could not connect to MySQL”

I’m using the same Username and password and Hostname that get me logged into the site using http://FTP... However, I don’t know what goes into the “Database Name” field. This may be a question for my host, Netfirms.com.

No, I wasn’t aware that I had to… sorry, I’m kind of a novice when it comes to higher-end web languages/db’s etc… I’ll give it a shot using PHPMyadmin. Thank You!

Yes, I had to buy some tutorials and really do my homework. I thought it was easier than that, but Joomla is pretty difficult to be honest. Anyways, I got it working. JA Mesolite is a pretty cool template, but there are too many things that I can’t figure out how to change, so I’m probably gonna go with another option for a shopping cart rather than Joomla. It’s great for content management though. Anyways, thanks very much!
