I had this opened before, but nobody helped me :((

So what I want to do is:
    – keep the normal login from the blog button on the right most part of the menu (the simple login), as for the K2 login I have added 3 link that I need.
    – when logging in, I get the normal Joomla login. I got the K2 login (which I also renamed Login) when I went to the Authors category, but I enabled/disabled some stuff and now I only get the Joomla Login. I wish when registered, to have the K2 login, as in this site only admins will register. those links which I added to the bottom of the K2 login will be really useful on a daily basis.
Please let me know if I am clear about this
    Thanks

    Hi,

As per my knowledge K2 login uses modified Joomla login, which means that it overrides Joomla login. So you can use either Joomla login or K2 login at a time.

When I first installed, I had the normal login. And when I went to contact, I saw the K2 login.
So surely both work. You just have to make them appear where they should. I managed partially, but it did not work as I wanted, so I only let the default login.
That’s why I asked for help. I want the default login only on the menu bar, and when logged in, to see the options of K2.
    Please let me know.
    Thanks

    Hi,

I will try to find out what you are saying and let you know.. What do you mean by when you went to Contact, you saw K2 login?

    Exactly.
I accidentally managed to add K2 login to some other pages, but did not manage to make it default for all pages.
I want K2 (with options, as i modified it a bit) to be available, AFTER logging in.
Before login, I want the normal login. So before register, login, after register, K2.
    Let me know 🙂
    Thank you

    Hi,

The default login module and K2 login modules were published on mega position, which does not exist in your template. I have changed their position to right2 and now both modules are displayed on all pages in right2 position. Please edit the modules and display them at any other position you want and set whatever access level you want..

    Hope that solves your problem..

Thank you for your help. The problem still persists, but in a different manner. If you login as admini for ex., you’ll see you see the same login twice, no matter where you are. If you go inside my K2 login you’ll see at the “Post-text” I have added 3 links. That’s why i want the K2 login, because i can edit stuff around.
My guess is I’m just not getting K2 login at all. It’s just the classic login twice. Can you look into it please ?
I really appreciate your help and am sorry to come back to you so many times.
    Thanks 🙂

PERFECT ! One last problem thought 🙂
It seems the login doesn’t open when mouseover to the blog icon in the menu (upper menu).
Also, I’d like if possible to remove the link from the blog (when clicking directly) as it’s 404 error.
    Thanks !

I am sorry, I could not find where you have put the Blog link, which is giving 404 error.. Can you please tell me where should I look for that link?

I really don’t know. It might be some blog main page. I initially installed the quick install and then removed the posts from the blog, as I’ll not be using the blog. Maybe this is helpful ?
Or maybe, I can use the drop downs from over there (login, interview, twitter) and modify one (for example interview) and change the picture, and have the login form appear over there instead. For the moment, the Login form doesn’t appear over there, and I don’t know why ….

Please check the post by tienhc in the link I had given. He has explained how to display the login module in mega position.. You need to edit your Blog link to set it up as explained in that post. I assume you have created the blog menu on your website, so you will be able to find it.

I had deactivated the Blog button 🙂 that’s why it wouldn’t go to the blog. But it works now. I decided to leave login as it is.
THANK YOU . i am closing this thread now 🙂
