June 17, 2008 at 2:44 pm #129782I have uploaded the ja_zibal template and can see it in my site templates. I am selecting it and making it the default tempalte but when I view the site it is blank.
If I change the default template back to rhuk_solitaire I can see my site.
Are there some permissions I should change in the template directory. This is a fairly urgent problem for me so I would appreciate any guidance.

June 19, 2008 at 3:59 pm #254705I uploaded via FTP. It would not work via Joomla. Error message was something like “no XML…directed”.
Joomla version 1.12
Apologies for terse reply but I’m travelling at the moment and not at my own PC.
Any help would be good.

June 19, 2008 at 4:25 pm #254713It looks like one of two things,
If you were not able to upload via Joomla it is probably because you were trying to upload the complete package zip. You must unzip first.
Or you installed the J1.5 version of the template. Please delete the template you uploaded via ftp and upload the J1.x template. Unzip the package first.cahillmary Friendcahillmary

July 10, 2008 at 1:06 pm #259010Thank you for replying to my mail. I have been away from my PC so hence the late reply to you.
I was not having any success with this default problem so this is what I have done:
I decided to switch over to Joomla 1.5.4 (gotta start sometime)
I uploaded Joomla 1.5.4 to the server and can see my site
I changed the default templateAll good so far
I then wanted to upload JA-Zibal (1.5 version)
At the backend I went into Extensions/install-Uninstall
I selected the 1st option “Upload Package File”
I selected the Ja_Zibal .zip file and clicked Upload / Install buttonIt seemed to be working
I then got a blank screen (index.php) , no successful install page
When I went back to the administrator end the new template was not visible in Template Manager. I thought the .zip file was the best one to use because if I use Option 2 and select the unzipped folder it keeps drilling down looking for a specific file and I’m not sure how to upload all the files.
I found 1.0 easier to install templates and If I can do this at least once in 1.5 I will remember the steps. Sorry for long reply but getting frustrated about this.
