Hi,
can I delete magazine menu?
I changed it into a mainmenu, but I created a copy, I’m not able to delete it because the magazine’s menu home remains the default home page, even if I set main menu’s home as default.
Now I have two default home pages and the frontpage module doesn’t work.thank you

February 28, 2012 at 5:57 pm #440651You actually HAVE TO always have a default “home page” menu item – though your default homepage doesn’t necessarily have to be the traditional home page (if that makes sense).I think I understand what you’re wanting to do through . . . and the way I once created a work around was creating the “Home” menu item within my footer menu (set as default), so that I didn’t need to have it on my Main Navigation menu. All of the settings for the “Home” item were identical as they were when it was living on the Main Menu … I simply transposed it over to my Footer menu.
Make sense?

February 28, 2012 at 7:02 pm #440665I understand what you say, and I’ve done the same thing using main menu instead of footer menu, but the problem still remains because I have two home items, one on the magazine menu I want to delete, and one on the mein menu I created.
Both home items are the default, I have two stars…. I think there is something wrong.
Sometimes all articles in frontpage disappear because the real default home changes from one on main menu (that I need) to one on the magazine menu (that’s the reason why I want to delete this menu at all)I’ve tried to be as clear as possible, I’m Italian, so writing in english is not easy, sorry for mistakes.
Thank you

February 28, 2012 at 7:11 pm #440670I am a bit perplexed as to how you could have two default menu items – as, generally, Joomla will not allow this.
If you do, then you need to un-designate one of them at “default.” If there is some glitch that is not allowing you to do this, then, perhaps, you need to delete the duplicate menu altogether and re-create it – this time being attentive to not include another default menu item.
February 28, 2012 at 8:22 pm #440687Ah! You’re right. I will try to do it.
