December 29, 2008 at 9:03 pm #284274You cant login into the demo site.
If you want to have an exact copy of the demo on your own site then you should install the quickstart, and not just the template manually like i tried to explain in your other post.
Do you need more information on how to install the quickstart?

December 29, 2008 at 10:09 pm #284276I had someone reinstall joomla for me, and install the demo content as well. but seems like the only installed a portion of it. If i just uninstall the template, and reinstall the quickstart files, will it install as normal, with all the demo content? Or do I need to uninstall the template, and everything else as well?

December 29, 2008 at 10:25 pm #284277First you would need to remove your current joomla installation.
ill use the post out of your other tread and try to explain it further:
If you want to install a new website, i would always recommend using the quickstart, as it installs joomla + template + all templates modules + all the needed configuration for the template.
After installing quickstart you will have an exact copy of the demo website.
With the quickstart (or any new joomla install) you can select to install sample data.So if you go install joomla DONT install standard joomla with installation files from the joomla site, you install the quickstart.
Quickstart is:
-A complete installation of the newest joomla version (so it includes all joomla install files you dont need to have a running joomla installation)-The template itself
-All modules and configurations needed for the template
-During the installation of the quickstart (wich looks like a normal joomla installation)
You can select to install the demo data. When the installation is finished you will have a running joomla and an exact copy of the demo website of the template you chose. (no need to install and configure the template manually)
——————————————————
How to install the quickstart:Download the quickstart from JA.
Unzip the quickstart on your local PC and upload all the unpacked files to your webhost.
Then start the installation by going to the url of the website and follow all steps. Remember to install the sample data.
When the installation is done then you will have a exact copy of the demo site without having to do anything extra.
