how can I get subcategories(instead of articles) in category to display in a similar manner to the x-layout?
Currently the x-layout – Departments menu item type only displays articles within the category, but I would like to also display subcategories in a similar manner.
Thanks for any help.

Actually, the ‘x-layout – Departments’ menu item type if an override of Category Blog menu item so it basically will show a list of articles in a category. If you wanna show subcategories, you will need to create new menu item with another type to show categories.
