I do not see any limit with the weblinks in Joomla 1.5 or are you referring to Joomla 1.0.x

Hi salvocu.
Plz go to Phpmyadmin and choose your database -> Jos_weblinks table, you will see description field with type is varchar(250), edit this field:
250->1000, 2000,.. as you want.
