March 20, 2017 at 10:24 am #1020097Hello, as you might have seen in this other thread, I managed to fix several issues with JA Slideshow 3 and posted the solutions: https://www.joomlart.com/forums/topic/several-fixes-for-ja-slideshow-3-fixing-broken-layout-description-add-title/
However, I have three other issues that I was not able to solve and I need the help from the staff.
-
The mask (description) transition doesn’t work I tried various settings for the mask transition type, but no matter what I choose, it doesn’t work. The mask just doesn’t "transition" at all, it just switches suddently between the previous one and the next one. This happens in all skins so you can see it in your sites too. Can you please check what the issue is?
-
Sorting by date doesn’t work? When using the "From Image Folder" option, I tried to set the Image Sorting "by Date", but it doesn’t work, it still sorts them by name. How comes? Also, what is the sorting by date supposed to do? Sort by upload date of the file? Regardless, it doesn’t seem to do anything. Can you please check what the issue is?
- Avoid resizing of the big image? This is more of a personal preference, but I noticed that the slideshow also resizes (creates a new file in the /resized/ folder) not only the thumbnails but also the big main images. Is it possible for the slideshow to resize only the thumbnails but NOT the big main images, and simply use the original uploaded files for the big main images instead? What file/line would I have to edit to change this? (the size is not a problem because I set a max-width: 100% with CSS)
Thank you!

May 4, 2017 at 7:39 am #1030985Oh wait, how did I miss this? For some reason I got no email notification about this so I didn’t see it. Nice! I will try this out and let you know. Thanks!
Oh, did you make sure to also implement these changes in the updated package? https://www.joomlart.com/forums/topic/several-fixes-for-ja-slideshow-3-fixing-broken-layout-description-add-title/

Nope, we didn’t include your custom in JA Slideshow.

May 4, 2017 at 11:38 am #1031127Hello, I tested it, unfortunately the package above did not fix the issues #1 and #2.
It seems to partially fix #2. The sorting now seems to work correctly in the backend (administration) in the module manager, but in the frontend display I can’t seem to order by DATE – DESCENDING. It orders correcly in the backend module settings, but it doesn’t order correctly in the actual slideshow, it seems to still order by ascending in the slideshow.
Instead, as far as issue #1, nothing changed, I still can’t make any transition effect work for the Mask/Description.

June 6, 2017 at 8:36 am #1039907Hello,
I tested this new version.-
What do you mean?? I have my own style and my own skin, I can’t use the default skin. In my old Joomla 1.5 site the mask transition was working fine in any skin, I can’t believe now it can’t work if not using the default skin.
- Nothing, same problem as before ->
I canโt seem to order by DATE โ DESCENDING. It orders correcly in the backend module settings, but it doesnโt order correctly in the actual slideshow, it seems to still order by ascending in the slideshow.
- What do you mean? I tested it and the main image still resizes.
I compared the files from the previous version with the new version, and I saw the edits you did to the files, but apparently they didn’t help, as it seems the problems are still not solved ๐
I wonder if you test the version before giving them to me? ๐Mo0nlight ModeratorMo0nlight

June 7, 2017 at 7:11 am #1040193Hello,
No. This is not an issue on my website, it just doesn’t work.If you can show me a Demo example where you tested it and you can show me that on your test site it works, then we’ll talk about it.
Otherwise, you should be first testing your solutions on your own test sites, and then when it works, giving them to the customers. You can’t use the customers sites for testing.

June 7, 2017 at 10:34 am #1040310Hi @thesdhotel,
Our developer checked the issue and tested it carefully before sending you the solution.
As you have your own skin for the slideshow, we need a closer look to check what’s wrong as we tested with default skin, it works properly. So pls share us the credentials of your site (URL, Admin + FTP account) or clone your live site to have a test site so our developer will check it directly and help you out.
Regards
