You can look for the template.css file that contains all graphic elements of the template. There you will find this region of the template and will first see what is displayed there currently. In fact you can change what is there right now to anything new you want, so a bit of intuitive programming skills should be present and the wish to first learn how the template itself is structured.
But it can be done, just play around with the codes and you will get your solution.
P.S.: In some cases, you can simply change the “width” of the logo on the left. This way the space of the logo goes further right and you can simply widen the logo file via Photoshop etc.. You create a blank white space on the side of the logo and place there anything you wish to place. To find the code in the template.css, that defines the width of the logo simply use the search function of your editor and look for “logo”. When you are in that row where “url(/…/images/logo.gif)” is stored you may change the width of the logo some lines above to reach further right, to the width of the new logo with your added content. Than you should have a new logo there that reaches further right with your newly added content on the right. Surely you have to upload the new logo and the modified template.css to the server beforewards.
