I am using portofolio and i want to create columns left and right with fixed width.
The only option i find is per % of the screen.
I dont want to change from fluid, i want to keep it fluid.
    Thank you in advance

Hmm, interesting question. I’ve just taken a look at those settings and it does only seem you can use percentages. I have tried adding px to it but it only picks up the initial figure. If it is not already available I think it would be a usefull addition.

i am burning for it .
Where can i look if it is already available ?

I’ve been looking through the wiki but cannot find it so far.

I shall wait and see if any of the devs can suggest something. You can currently set overall width and then columns as percentages of that which is not what you need. I can fullly see the point of having certain columns as a fixed width.

    Hi,
I want to have 2 stable columnes with fixed width,
and the rest of the site fluid.
No matter if width is same or not.

</blockquote>If your template uses the Fluid width, you can not fix width for left and right of the template.
because theirs width are calculated by n%+m% of the container ‘s width. so if you try to fix it, it will break the layout.

Something more important. In “Template Width” option even i use “AUTO” or “SPECIFIED =100%” !!! that settings left me depend of screen resolution about 200 px left EMPTY SPACE and 200 px right EMPTY SPACE .

    Please look at screen-shoot!!

Most of my users have problem to see correct the site! >:(

How to prevent this to stretch to any monitor resolution!? only users with 1024×768 can see ok the site.

ALL THE others with resolution above 1024 they HAVE PROBLEM. included ME

So What, this template is ONLY FOR MONITORS 5 YEARS OLD and OLDER..??

Normally you would have a background in there to fill the space. I would use that space (If I was developing a site like yours) to have javascript popout banners at the sides using one of the plugins from the JED. That way you can fill your site with your content and still have banners.

Fluid widths are a real pain to develop for IMO and even amny of the big sites have dropped it.

Ok. I want to putt banners ONLY in Right column INSIDE the template. and NOT OUT of template. FOR MANY REASONS.

BUT please tel me how to HIDE and stretch this empty space to the browser size.

    SEE IN SCREENSHOOT PLEASE

I’m not saying fluid is bad, just a lot of work. As for removing the grey sides that is a lot of heavy customization of this particular template.

So practicly you are saying to me that is not working and i need to put personal work (if iam able to do it ) to make it real fluid 100%
Is this what you are telling me or i am blond and i dont understand well ?
