You must adjust the settings to display the articles you want to be displayed. Every article has a number and can also be categorized and categories are also numbered and this way you can assign what will be displayed.
Like I mentioned, on http://www.joomla.org you will also find tutorials and also some other sites provide those, to use google will also assist you.
