    Hi,

Distance is one of the most major factor for searching (Job & Resumes),
and I have seen that you thought to integrate a distance feature based on Zip Code.

This feature is very very important and I hope that it’s always in your plans.

For me the best thing will be to have :

    • All cities in the data base (with a CSV import).
    • A recognition of the cities (E.g : if I enter “Ne”, JB suggest me “New York, Newport …).
    • Each cities could be grouped in parents (E.g country) and all parents could be grouped to in a parent …

    A suggestion system:

    • E.g 1 : Sorry, no results in your city, do you want to expand your search with a radius of X miles (X= 20, 50, 100 …), or expand your search to the country (in JB this could be the parent folder)…
    • E.g 2 : Sorry no result with your filter search, but there are some results in a radius of X miles, or there are some results in the country (parent folder), do you wait to display them ?

AND THE BEST OF THE BEST WOULD BE :

    1. A google map system with the distance and why not the way (road) between the Job and the Job Seeker.
    2. A google map with all results displayed on the map

I understand that a such feature should be very difficult to integrate but represent (I think) a big benefit for JB.

So could you tell me if you have plan this kind of feature in the next weeks / months ?

Notice : currently the number of characteres for set a localisation in the admin panel is limited to 20, how can I change this feature ?

    Thanks by advance

    Hi Lucine

I have raised your suggestion as feature request for 1.5.0 version. I also vote for the above enhancement. However, our priority for 1.4.x will be the bug fixes and stabilize existing features.

For your information, we have a plan to fine tuning the component into more a Job Board engine / framework so that such complicated features can be developed as independent plugin/job board extensions. Such approach give both JA and user more space & flexibility of development/customization

    Dear Hung Dinh,

It’s exactly what I wanted to hear :

First fixing the bugs and after develop some important plugin like “Google map system addon”.

    It’s just perfect, thanks a lot 😀
