    I didn’t realize you had to install the sample data with the template to have it look like the template demo.

    Now, my front page looks about 75% right but I’m missing several things from the front page like the JA News FP module doesn’t show up and the Tabs module shows up on secondary pages but not the home page.

    Is it possible to delete and reinstall the template with the sample data or a way to get everything that’s missing in there. Unfortunately this site is in development and there is no “live” version but I am attaching a screenshot to show you my problems.

    Simply do a quickstart install on you desktop machine and work out the settings from that. There are probably only a few things that need changing.

    I’ve already spent days with a team of people moving content over though to a development site, I don’t want to have to reinstall.

    I was hoping there would be a workaround?

    There is, you probably just missunderstood what I was saying.

    Install Wamp on your desktop ( http://www.wampserver.com/en/ )

    This will effectively give you a full webserver on your desktop. You then create a directory in the c:wamp/www folder (it can be whaterver name you want but I would use teline for simplicity)

    Copy the quickstart there and extract its contents to that folder.

    Start wamp and in your task bar you will see a wamp icon, click on localhost and you will see a list of websites installed with wamp including your teline site (you can add as many test sites you wish to the www folder). Click on teline and you will now see the standard joomla install page. Go through it making sure you press the install sample data button.

    You will then have teline 2 installed on your desktop and can compare all the settings. Ones to take note of are the JA News modues and all the sub settings, classes etc on your homepage menu item.

    ps. while you go through the install you will be asked for mysql info, this is localhost and root for the username. You cna put whatever you want as db name and it will be created. There is no default password set in the wamp install so you can leave the password box blank. I would not however, I would go into phpmyadmin (from the localhost page you saw earlier) and set one

    oh i get what you’re saying. okay, i can do that. as an aside, i clicked on the “debug” option under “global configuration” and now it has taken my whole site down with a 500 error…how do I turn it back off through the DB, any idea?

    The error i’m getting is-

    500 - JDatabaseMySQL::query: 1064 - You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 's Column', 'editors-column', 'index.php?option=com_content&view=category&layout=' at line 1 SQL=INSERT INTO jos_menu (`menutype`, `name`, `alias`, `link`, `type`, `published`, `parent`, `componentid`, `sublevel`, `ordering`, `checked_out`, `checked_out_time`, `pollid`, `browserNav`, `access`, `utaccess`, `params`, `lft`, `rgt`, `home` ) VALUES ('magazin', 'Editor's Column', 'editors-column', 'index.php?option=com_content&view=category&layout=blog&id=14', 'component', 1, 6, 20, 1, 1, 0, '0000-00-00 00:00:00', 0, 0, 0, 0, 'num_leading_articles=1 num_intro_articles=4 num_columns=2 num_links=0 ', 0, 0, 0)

    You can turn debug off by editing your config.php file

    Edit var $debug=’1′ to var $debug=’0′
