how to use different layout?
i open an article and the page dispays the article in the middle of front page.

Can you, perhaps, be a bit more specific with what it is you are wanting to accomplish?

for example first page has slideshow and lots of modules. i click on an article in latest news and it opens again the first page with everything and the article in the middle instead of opening only the article

In Joomla, if you want to view article individually, that article must be assigned to a menu item.

pls create a new menu item (or use an existing one) and assign article (or category that article belongs to) to this new menu item and also make sure that you don’t assign any module to this menu item.
