I see that background image is different if I install 1.5 or 2.5 version of ja_cloris.

Is this due to the licence of images (that are missing in 2.5 version)?

What do you mean image is different? On the demo? Maybe it’s just the theme selected? Can you provide a screenie?

On a fresh install of both version with Jean sets as default theme:
version 2.5: all is ok: Jean become the default theme
version 1.6: all the page keep orange theme, except in J!Menu page that acquire the correct Jean theme

Can you confirm me that I can’t use the image delivered with 1,6 version (those in Features and Services menu), please?

Are you aware 1.6 has been depreciated by Joomla.org and is no longer supported? I can not confirm as I do not use unsupported versions. May I ask if there is a reason you will not upgrade to 2.5?
