In the template manager, goto “Layouts” tab, then choose to edit the layout which is used (it should be the default one). You can add property “width” for block in middle “blocks”. Eg:

<blocks name=”middle” colwidth=”20″>
<block name=”left1″ width=”30″>left</block>
<block name=”right1″ width=”25″>right</block>
</blocks>

In this case, the left column width is 30% and the right column is 25% (the width is measured in percentage)
