I try to have 2 different home pages. One for guests (not logged in users), and one for registered (logged in) users.

I understand, that I have to use the same layout on the same menu item. I can not have feature-intro-2 layout for guest users menuitem “home” and have corporate layout for registered users menuitem “home” when these “homes” are the same menu item.

So, I try to use corporate layout for both groups, both guests and registered members, but I don’t want the article component to be shown to guestusers on this particular menuitem.

I know I can point the “Home” menuitem to a category, and set article permissions, so only registered members are able to see articles, but on the guest side of it the following text is shown in the article component:

There are no articles in this category. If subcategories display on this page, they may contain articles.

I don’t want this output, so I wonder how I can disable the article component completely for guest users?

Just figured out I could use the NoNumber Re-Replacer to remove that output. But I would prefer to get the component totally disabled for guests, so if anyone know how to…..?

Thank you TomC, I will study.

Although, I personally assume one are not capable of using the joomla access controls to finetune the main content output container to decide what usergroup that shall see it or not on a particlular menu item. I think this has to be done in the template, but I will study your links and hopefully find out. Thank you.
