February 19, 2012 at 11:38 pm #174057Hi guys,
I think in all 2.5 template, the format has been changed, instead of having a <jdoc:include type=”component” />, it’s being divided somehow in XML and configuration files, anyone can give me some tips on how to disable it in front page only? I only found in template configuration to disable content block for all pages, but I can’t just disable it for homepage only. Please advise.

February 20, 2012 at 7:38 am #438987Hi Blaine, thanks for your quick reply, it’s quite common requirement for a home/frontpage not showing a component, doesn’t matter it’s an article or whatever component will be, in non-T3 framework, simply we go to index.php add an if statement saying if it’s frontpage then don’t display component. But in T3 framework positions/component are composed in xml layout files, how can I have a condition if it’s frontpage, then don’t display a component?

February 20, 2012 at 8:31 pm #439120You can create a new profile in template parameters and then, set override for content block to hide for specific profile
Then, You can assign this profile for homepage.
Please try following steps:
1.Go to joomla backend/Extensions menu/Template Manager/your Template
2.Select profiles tab,create new profile.
3.Select your new profile, check the checkbox at the right side of the ‘Hide main content block’ then select ‘yes’ from its combobox
6.select Global tab
7.In ‘Profile Override Setting’,select all home menu items and click on select link
8.note that for all pages your default profile is selected and for home page new profile is selected
9.Apply the changes and ckeck on the front page1 user says Thank You to Blaine for this useful post

February 20, 2012 at 11:17 pm #439142Thank you Blaine for your enlightenment, I got it works by using profile, but from your step 6, I couldn’t find them.
Instead, I used Language & Page Assignments on Profiles tab, associate with main-menu->welcome page to new profile with Hide Main content block is true. Hope this will help with others.
