December 8, 2012 at 3:05 pm #182932Hi Guys,
I would like to know how to or if it is possible to disable the FB comments on specific content pages. On these pages, I would like to add a contact form in place of the FB comments. The pages in question are displayed in a standard format and not via the pop up.
I’ve complete a search and have found how to remove the FB entirely, etc., but nothing specific to turning them off on certain pages.
If someone had the answer, I would appreciate knowing the solution and how to achieve it.
Thanks,
Vineyardseashell

December 10, 2012 at 3:07 am #475648I didn’t find a solution for removing the Facebook comments from specific pages; but I did manage a work-around with a form extension that was flexible enough to put my needed form into a module on the right side; so I ended up leaving the Facebook comment box on the page(s).
I’m happy with the work-around.
Hope your successful finding the answer.

December 10, 2012 at 9:27 am #475705Hi,
@vineyardseashell, It is good that you have your own solutions for this problem.
I just wanna know that you want to disable facebook comment for a specific article or for a specific menu item.I may try to provide a solution for this.

December 12, 2012 at 10:31 pm #476041@wall Crasher,
I absolutely LOVE JA Wall, and for the first time ever on one site- all my extensions play well together with no glitches J and my site looked fabulous, but in the end, the ‘complete’ site fell short in some ways, so I opted (against my better judgment & desire) to split one site into two.
Some of the reasons why are:
– unable to unpublished the face book comments on specific pages; I would only like FB comments on feeds for FB/Twitter/Instagram/YouTube pages, with other content pages using Komento.
– inability to successfully use banner ads on wall presentation. pages The stamp-block code mentioned in the forum is a great idea, but falls short without a fix for stopping the stamp-block load at the end of page loads; combine the above with Ad Agency, which isn’t responsive (nor planned to be responsive till March 2013), puts another kink into things when it comes to advertising and presentation.
It is definitely harder to manage JA Wall when most extensions out there are not responsive yet.
On the JA Wall site, I simply offer the FB/Twitter/Instagram/YouTube feeds; The other site uses Mendozite-which has a little bling, but overall maintains a clean look; provides the ability to add banner ads (300X250); of course my extensions here don’t play well together and there are some glitches I have to work out, before going live with this site.
My one wish- I could use JA Wall for the entire site.:)
Thanks for your help the other day, much appreciated 🙂

December 13, 2012 at 11:04 am #476119Hi vineyardseashell,
For facebook comment box, I can add another setting which allow you to enable it by menu item. But Komento, this is 3rd party extension, I can not control when it will show and when it not.
If you can be sure that you can control to show the Komento on some other menu item or category then I will show you the modification. It seem a long customize so I would need to confirm first.
About the ads, I would take a look in detail what provider you are going to use. I am not sure that all ads provider code is compatible with AJAX (infinity scroll) but I will give a try.
Regards
