If I disable development mode in my Brisk template, in order to speed up the site, when I select a menu that opens an article, this does not work anymore. I end up in a simple HTML page with no article…

    Any ideas anybody?

    Thanks.

Have you cleared all your caches?

Can you pm me a link to your site along with super admin login details and I will take a look for you?

    Thanks for your PM.

Unfortunately, I can only get to the back end of your site. The front end is taking a very long time to appear for me and when it does whether dev mode is on or off none of your menus are working.

It is not just the front end that is slow for me but it is taking 10mins for even your back end to load so this may be a hosting issue.

    Can anybody help here?

None of my ARTICLES in my site will open. Either with a LINK to them, or from a menu that I create and I select the article I wish to open. I have spent hours trying to find the reason, and I am stuck!

As an example: http://MySite.com/index.php?view=article&id=%2011 always takes me to my home page… Everything seems to be redirected to the Brisk homepage in my site…

    Thanks!

The menus were working. The reason you could not see any content was because you has all the menu items assigned in the Brisk (home) layout. This particular layout was designed fro the frontpage only and as a result does not contain the main content component. I have assigned all your other menu items (apart from the home page) to the Brisk (default) layout so you can see things working in a way you probably expect them to. Hopefully that is what you wanted?

    Phill,

Thank you very much! I see what you mean.

    But two issues remain:

    1) When I click on the menus you fixed, on my browser, (after having cleared the cache and even tried it on other browsers) the page that comes up seems to be broken on the top part – that is I get a menu that likes like the web thay day it was invented, then a big blank area, and if I scroll down, finally the article – so something is still amuck.

    2) I have TWO links on the bottom of the page. These do not work either to open articles. Are these missing the main content component, and if so how do I activate it?

Thank you again for your time. I saw you windsurf – I am a big kitesurfing fanatic in the Bay Area.

Not sure what is going on with your hosting but again it is taking 2 mins to access even the back end of your site. Earlier all was working and all pages were working. Now everything has gone ver slow and the css is not loading. That element I am convinced is a hosting issue.

Enjoy yout Kites. I just do not have the time to do both sports so stick to windsurfing.

Thanks – will talk to my host! I really appreciate your time.

In fact, I de-selected enable web development in the template and it’s speed is back. So that must really be part of the speed problem.

I am still unable to see the articles in the proper joomla interface, and they look like plain-jane html.

Curiously, an article takes VERY long to load, vs the home page that is very fast.

I supposed it’s past your bedtime – thank you for your help and good winds.

    Leo
