Hi, I’m trying to use JA Teline to convert a vietnamese news site.

When putting in the vietnamese text, the category title shows up OK:
http://www.daikynguyen.com/dkn/

But on the category page, it only shows the unicode gibberish for the title (it shows up OK in the breadcrumb).
http://www.daikynguyen.com/dkn/index.php?option=com_content&task=category&sectionid=1&id=23&Itemid=2

Can anyone help? I changed the header meta tag to unicode in the template.
<meta http-equiv=”Content-Type” content=”text/html; charset=utf-8″ />

Am I missing something?

Hi vvt601,

The charset you are using in your content is ISO-8859-1, not UTF-8. So you have to convert it to UTF-8, or convert your language file from UTF-8 to ISO-8859-1.

Thanks for your help. I went into the language file and changed:

DEFINE(‘_ISO’,’charset=iso-8859-1′);

to

DEFINE(‘_ISO’,’charset=utf-8′);

and now it works 🙂
