Oh right, forgot that points you like to see are on another level, sir…And it seems you come again like you are a judge or something and tell me 86% of my post of off-topic which is simply untrue, sorry. Seems my randomly chosen username and straight forward thinking does not fit you…, sorry again.

But to make it clear, take it to another level:

Joomlart.com could open a IMVU Chatroom, who knows IMVU, there one can create a 3D Chat Room, people can sign up and chose 3D Characters and can chat and meet in a virtual apartment with bar, pool, kichten, livingroom and lavalamp. Those rooms can also be made private so that one registered members can access this…

This would make huge difference and it is also free.

    Thanks!

As I said, a Chit Chat room or 3D Chat Room with bar, pool, kichten, livingroom and lavalamp is great. But no matter what kind of chat room, stuff like…….

….. does not make for a good atmosphere. If that is what we are to expect, maybe not having one is better?

Just add gabbly.com to the front of any URL and you have instant chat room. Like…

    http://gabbly.com/www.joomlart.com/forums

No support, credits, approval, modifications, needed.

Hey, that’s quite interesting. Has anyone tried it? Does it work well? And how secure is it? It sure is an easy way to make a Chat room though. Thanks for sharing that info.

Sorry link was wrong… works now.

I’m surprised it’s not more popular as it can be used on any web page and it’s an instant chat room. There used to be 1000’s on CNN.com and microsoft.com etc on Gabbly.

Of course because it’s free and so simple there are some drawbacks like the adverts and no moderating.

That is very neat! It could be useful! I like the fact that you do not actually leave the JA site!

Yea, you can also embed it in a web page.

So how does it work. If we wanted to have a chat room, we just decide to do so, without the permission of the site owner, or what. It seems like you could just hijack a site, and use it for your own Chat Room without the owners concent?

Well technically with gabbly, you are using their site and then they open Joomlart (or whatever) as a kind of iFrame. You in no way interfere with Joomlart so it’s not what I would call hijacking.

Hang on a mo. This sounds a bit dodgy! Does this mean with a bit of HTML I could open a chat room for, say the BBC, without their consent?

Or, do you need root admin access to the actual site where the chat is to take place?

You don’t even need HTML. You simply enter gabbly.com/www.bbc.co.uk in your address bar.

Gabbly then open their widget on their site and open the bbc site as an iframe in the background.

It does not interact or interfere with the BBC site any more than any other iframe or wrapper would and it does not place any extra load on their servers. Nobody would ever know unless you told them – which you would have to do if you ever wanted anyone to chat to. :p

Hee Hee. Of course I forgot about that :-[ 😀 🙂

No point opening chat rooms for just one person, whatever the site 😎

You can also install some custom toolbar that is also free, first you create one, than you let all the people install it and they have it on their FF on the top. There is a button called chat in most of them and simple chat room opens up, all the people that have the toolbar can join…

But back to what I like as modern, we, you, someone here could simply open an account at IMVU.com and call it “Joomlart Lounge”. So we have a complex 3D Apartment where any member can sign up with an account at IMVU with their username from here w/e and can whenever wanted join the party in the Joomlart IMVU Room.

I do not think we need there permission from Joomlart.com to open a chat for members at IMVU.

    Chet it out http://www.imvu.com

I think it would be much nicer if JA opened the chat room here so that we didn’t have to log in elsewhere … chat could remember our forum username (I do this with FlashChat on my current forum).

Just include a ‘Chat’ button and the room is opened. Also, on front page with Who’s Online, we also have Users in Chat statistic. Very ncie!

So some simple chat room like on any site on the internet? Why not, but I like IMVU even more, there one can actually really socialise like in the real world, check it out first….;)
