Hello everyone, I am new to Joomlart templates, and have downloaded the Ja Sanidine II Light template.
Here is my question, Is Jom Comment expected to work with this template. When I turn Jom Comment on, the left module position gets pushed to the bottom of the page when viewing in Internet Explorer 6.x.
If viewed in Internet Explorer 7, all is well.
1. Can Someone tell me if Ja-Sanidine II should work well with Jom Comment.
2. Can someone point me in the right direction to resolve this, may take some time to solve and I am willing to spend the time if I only knew where to start. Or at least some things to try.
Summary: I am thinking of trying the Quickstart version of Joomla that came with the Ja template, instead of the version I am using from Joomla.org, perhaps there is a difference somewhere. Both versions are 1.58
Thanks in advance.
Sincerely

Thanks for the feedback, its good to know others are successfully using Jom Comment and the Ja-Sanidine II.
Your site does not have a left module position, therefore it will not exhibit the same issue.
The issue that I’m experiencing is in IE6 with my menu’s in the left module position, the left menu gets pushed all the way down to the bottom when displaying a content article. Try it on my site you will see it. But you must have IE6 to see it though.

November 29, 2008 at 5:58 pm #280728Unfortunately that I cannot fine IE6 easily for now T.T
I had similar problem before with my previous Joomlart template on Joomla 1.0.x site. I do not remember whice extension has generate the problem but in my case, it because of CSS issue. IE6 has different css calculation, and the size of the content div is too big included margin and padding, or left sidebar is too big, then it cannot stay together in horizontal.
JA templates usually written for avoid this problem already. but some extension still have conflict and make this kind of problem.
I’m using firefox and firebug extension to evaluate all css issue.
I do not have your site url. May I have for a look please?

November 29, 2008 at 6:05 pm #280729no…it bad code in the contetn article item that does that.
1.5.x is very sensitive to poor code and the result is that the module positions in a column gets pushed down.
you have to go through each article and content item and search for the one with the bad code, its usually an <div> tag thats used wrong
easiest way is to disable all your content items and try them one at a time until you find the ones that cause the problem, then fix them. I’ve had to do this several times and it is a real pain, but it is the only way
when using joomla, and even though there is a WYSIWYG editor, you still need to know some basic html and css.

Ahh… yep… I agree on that… This recalled my memory. Some of my mambot or plugin that generate div tag in content artical and make this problem, and css is set the behavior of the div tag.
November 30, 2008 at 7:34 am #280764keeratis, the site url is http://www.thin-planet.com
I have tried quite a few things, uninstalled all 3rd party mods and uninstalled sanidine template and reinstalled the template with no mods and the problem remains.

November 30, 2008 at 9:48 pm #280815The results of turning off all articles except one Joomla sample content page, the Problem Remains with Jom Comment enabled.
Recap of issue.
Left menu position is pushed all the way to the bottom with Jom Comment enabled viewing with IE6 for the Ja Sanidine II template.
Problem goes away when I disable Jom Comment.
IE7 does not exhibit the issue when Jom Comment is turned on.
I really like having the site menus on the left, and would really like to figure this out, anymore suggestions.
Sincerely ScottC.
December 1, 2008 at 2:50 am #280821The problem is not resolved, however, I have decided since it is not going to get resolved, I am going to just not use left menus.
Perhaps future releases of Jom Comment might have a resolution.
