June 20, 2008 at 2:28 pm #129926Hi
I really am frustrated regarding mod catlswik. I have set the module to produce a 150×200 image in the settings.
Now lets say i have an image thats 200×300 px = it resizes to 132xsomething…..
if i set the image to 200×200 = it resizes to 150×150…
I guess you all should see that there is a problem here. Either you fix this so the settings can be respected,. or make a new module that has no option of resize…
i have been so angry on this function for a long time now. I have needed to fix it by creating images that are this and this size…now i got one that cant be treated that way – so i get “pissed of” lol 😉
You all knwo how i love this template – but i dont love bugs 😉
Help me or die lol (as in not ment to offend)

June 20, 2008 at 6:42 pm #255033Hi mayhesla
I have already posted this topic here;http://www.joomlart.com/forums/topic/hot-topic-images-not-resizing-correctly/
This is a bug (or not – depending on how you look at it) due to the resize script trying to maintain an aspect ratio with the image.
The method I used for a workaround was to resize my images for hot topic to 152px wide (the correct width for the module) Then I cropped them to 200px high (the correct height for the module) then resized the image back to a respectable size, I try to use an actual image width of around 350px wide for the actual article.
This way the image will resize properly to fit on the front page, which you can see here
Another bug or lack of documentation I think but I hope it helps you until a fix arrives 😉

June 20, 2008 at 9:57 pm #255064yeah, the aspect ratio was my first thought to. I probably can handle fixing my images to an exact size. But as in having this as a module that set parameters – it all sucks this way = i shure hope they can fix this.
Even if i won a template of the month = it doesen’t change the support i expect…
Thank you so much for YOUR help – i also hope som JA-People can help us out here = get to work folks…

June 20, 2008 at 10:32 pm #255065No problems, glad to help 😉
It should be able to be fixed though as the resize script for JA News doesnt do it and as long as the image is a vertical aspect one then it should look fine.
