    I’m using png files for the slide show and noticed that I don’t get my transparency. Is that a way to go about this?

    I just realized that the dark area I see behind my image wasn’t caused by my PNG not working but rather, the background of the images used in the slideshow is black. I still haven’t figured how to remove it.

    Dear darrenf!

    May be you have some problem with css or your png image is not a transparency image. In ja kyanite ii and rasite template, we used the transparency images for the module, everything worked well
    Can you pls give me the link to your site and name of image, i ‘ll check this issue

    thanks

    Hi darren

    I had a similar problem albeit with a different template. I had to export all slide images as transparent gifs which seemed to fix it.

    Thanks for the reply guys.

    @questbg
    I wanted to use PNG instead of Gif because the quality is better. I need better quality since i’m doing a site to showcase photography works.

    @tienhc
    The problem is definitely caused by css by I’m not sure where. I’m using Ja Norite. I tried playing with the parameters but I couldn’t find the right one to change.

    I realized that is nothing wrong with the PNG but rather some css code is adding a black box behind my image. Due to that, any transparent parts of the image is showing black instead of the background I would expect.

    I got pissed trying to figure it out and gave up on the idea. I’m using jpegs now so you won’t see the problem.

    I’m now facing a different problem. I’m trying to find a way to configure it such that it doesn’t start with the 1st image with animation type set to “moving”.

    I’ve sent it to you via PM.

    However, you won’t be able to see the problem. As I mentioned above, I decided to use jpegs after trying to resolve this issue. It can only be seen in transparent areas.

    But thanks for the response.

    Hey tienhc,

    I’ve thinking of using png again. I still have the same problem as mentioned earlier. I’ve placed a sample png file up for you to view. Try rightclicking and downloading the image. The image is fine. I think its something to do with the css.

    I have emailed you the URL as I don’t want the website to be viewed by others before its completed. thanks.

    Dear darrenf!

    Please check the “Opacity” property on the elements using the “PNG” background image,

    I saw you use two PNG background for the Next button and Previous but, you set the value “0.001” for the “Next/Prev Images opacity” parameter, so that you could not see them

    Pls check again

    Thanks

    Hi Tien, that was intentional. Those are not the PNG files that I’m having problems with. Its the 3 pictures that you can see. The transparency is covered with black instead of being transparent.

    Problem has been solved, thanks tienhc!

    Go to /modules/mod_jaslideshow2/assets and modify .ja-slide-item img

    .ja-slide-item img {
    /#background: #000;#/
    }
