I have used this template very easily with J1.5 and thought I would give it a try, with another site so I installed the 1.7 version.

1.7 sure is better all round that 1.5 but I’m not too sure it works 100% with this template.

Has anyone else managed to get the JA News Featured module working? Did you just keep the Default settings? Or change to Teline iv profile and theme selection? I tried changing to teline iv style and it removes the modules to the right of the slideshow and destroys other module positions.

If I waste anymore time trying to fix this I will have to use the 1.5 version, which I’d prefer not to do.

    Hi gail_peacock!
Have you been sure to follow the User Guide for the News set up?
It would be great to now exactly what you installed when changing over to 1.7.QuickStart or just the individual items? And did you install the T3 framework as well?
    Thanks!

    Hi

I did a quickstart brand new install, with sample data loaded on.

I have sorted a few issues out, by trial and error. I think I need to write more articles to ‘fill out’ space on the page with some featured and some not featured. I’ll see how that goes.

Everything worked ok when all the sample articles were there. Since trashing and removing from trash and creating my own it’s screwed things up.

    Hi gail_peacock!
The ja news front page module shows only front page articles. Please check all articles on that category, enable “front page” if its not.
Please also be sure to consult the User Guide I linked in my last response as well.
Do also check that the correct categories are set.
Do also turn off cache for the module and be sure to clear site and browser cache!
And finally be sure all folders and files are properly permissioned.
    Thanks!
