January 1, 2011 at 7:51 pm #158164I thought I had this figured out.
I changed the frontpage layout from Frontpage/Blog Layout to section and listed order of new articles to show oldest first.
I do not want the articles in K2 Blog to have any effect on the frontpage articles. When I add a new blog post, I want it to stay in that section and NOT appear on frontpage.
How can I stop this?
Appreciate any help with this. SITE
Thanks,

January 2, 2011 at 9:22 pm #369712Please refer to these links::
Category blog layout — Can be mainly used to hold articles from specific category assigned so would be better for you as you can select other menu item to get the articles from specific category to be shown there and not on frontpage
Frontpage blog layout — It mainly shows articles assigned to frontpage in article manager

I thought I understood this. Are you saying the articles in K2 have nothing to do with what I want? Incidentally, I can use the articles in K2 for the front page. I do not want a new article that I add to replace “Why WebinarDMD?” . I want it fixed on the homepage in the “leading” position…always. Is that possible?
Ohhh, and thank you SO much for helping me. 🙂

So, Please select menu type to article layout::
http://docs.joomla.org/Screen.menus.edit.15#Article_Layout
and select in your article as it’s primary purpose is to display a single article 🙂

Aman, honestly, I tried that. That article is in main Joomla content but also in K2. K2 article with that title has more tutorials and is a longer article. When you click the link for the article on the homepage, it takes you to the K2 article in Blogs. The article in main Joomla doesn’t have all the tutorial content as the one in K2 Blog article. I’m unable to get the title to unlink and remove the update info at the end of the article or author info.
I never thought I’d have difficulty with this as I’ve used Joomla for a long time now and thought I knew this basic stuff.
I’ll play around with it some more. Maybe after taking a break from the PC for a spell. 🙂Thank you….

January 2, 2011 at 10:14 pm #369729Aman, take a look at what happens when I do as you suggested. SITE The K2 Article is at the top. It has a question mark “Why WebinarDMD?” The article in main Joomla in list layout for frontpage without the question mark, “Why WebinarDMD” is at the bottom. I don’t want it there. I want it at the top..FIXED. Then I want the option to add additional articles on the homepage beneath it.

thann1510,
Thank You! 🙂
This was all my fault. I wrote the module positions down incorrectly. I decided to look at them again. I was certain K2 had something to do with my problem. I was treating User4 as Content module. Big mistake on my part. I have solved the issue and offer apologies. Thank you for requesting a ticket but it will not be necessary. 🙂
Happy New Year!
My best,

January 4, 2011 at 2:24 am #369908Aman, thank you for your time. I’m sorry it was all a mistake. I wrote User4 as Content module position. I just discovered my error. All is solved now. Thank you for your patience with me! 🙂
Take good care,
Avis -
