January 8, 2012 at 10:54 am #172570I have searched for a solution here – apologies if I am duplicating someone’s post – but the exact solution eludes me.
Modify The Text Layer
I have downloaded the source files provided for Droid (Joomla1.5 none exist for 1.7).
I have Fireworks and Photoshop, but I don’t know what I have to do in either of these applications with the logo source psd to enable me to change just the lettering:- JA Droid to MySite for example – without losing the actual design, look and layout of the logo. I don’t need to change the colour or the look of the text – just the text itself. Please, could a clever person explain the exact steps I need to take – in detail please – to select and edit the text layer; either in Photoshop or in Fireworks.
Droid has the exact visual profile for my site and apart from changing articles/categories etc and the slideshow, images only the text of the default logo text needs to reflect my website.
With Grateful Thanks,
Mike.

January 8, 2012 at 11:18 am #432973Hi
First of all you need to install the fonts in the fonts folder downloaded
Then go to PSD folder and open the logo.psd file with Photoshop
As you can see in the image the text is managed by this layer
go to the left bar and select the Text button
Then go to the text that need to be changed and select it
Write your text into that field repeat the same for the other text layer “July 10 Template with Google Font”
after done that go to file Save for web and choose Png-24 as format click on save and you have
your new logo.png

January 8, 2012 at 11:42 am #432977Thank you for your very fast response.
Firstly, I will look for the fonts you mention. I presume that I have to put the fonts in my font folder on my PC or should they go in Photoshop ?
Next I will attempt at following your instructions, and report back to you whether or not I succeed.
Thank you again.
mike.
