Hi All,
Just a really quick message for you all –
How can you add a drop down for the JA University template?
Also is there a news module which can be catogarised to show a news article on a specific pages?
Thanks

What exactly do you mean by “add a drop down?” … a drop down what?July 10, 2013 at 9:35 am #498527Hi Tom,
Thanks for the reply and I mean a drop down menu when you click an item in the bar at the top.

July 10, 2013 at 10:29 am #498536It would be great if you can include url of your site, an illustrated screenshot of what you are trying to achieve, It would help to understand the issue and give you specific answers.
July 10, 2013 at 10:50 am #498540hi,
Our logo is also hiding the top search bar, how to bring the search box in front of the logo?

So that we can try to best assist you, please provide the url of the site you’re working on,
as well as set “Optimise CSS” to “No” within your Template Manager–General settingsJuly 26, 2013 at 11:34 am #500232<em>@TomC 380156 wrote:</em><blockquote>So that we can try to best assist you, please provide the url of the site you’re working on,

Thanks for your reply and appologies for the delay in getting back to you.
The url for our test site is http://mhrn-info.php5.hostingweb.co.uk/ and I have switched optimise CSS to No as requested. Basically I have added the search module to our site and put in the position named “search” to bring it in the header. The problem I am having is that we have a logo in the header which is quite long and it seems that it is cover the “search” position because all I can see is a black block appearing just next to the logo:
What we are looking for is for the search module to appear infront of the logo so that it shows underneath the text “National Institute for Health Research”. Also I have used an image as the search button but it seems that the image of the search button and the search textbox are slightly out of alignment. How would I fix this?
There is also another thing we seem to be having an issue with. We looked the demo site for the JA University and noticed that there are spotlight modules used in quite a few places but when I installed the template I couldn’t find any spotlight modules. I installed one called JA Spotlight Module with Image but when I click on it to change settings I cannot see any settings to change. What am I doing wrong? Is there another spotlight module I should be using or is there one already with the JA University template?
Just to let you know that we have managed to sort out the drop down menus as we wanted so thank you for your help with that and thank you for your help so far 🙂

July 29, 2013 at 10:57 am #500465You can fix overlap logo with search form this way
Open templates/ja_university/css/template.css file
From
#ja-search {
bottom: 20px;
overflow: hidden;
}change to
#ja-search {
bottom: 20px;
overflow: hidden;
z-index: 1;
}Remember to clear cache from Admin area

Do you have any ideas with regards to my other query about the Spotlight module?
Thanks

</blockquote>I’m afraid I’m not quite getting what you are mentioning above. You can clarify me about that and send me the screenshot what you would like to do.
August 7, 2013 at 10:36 am #501511Hi Ninja Lead
Apologies for not being clear because I’ve probably got the terminology wrong. Basically I am trying to create something like this:
This screenshot was taken from the JA University demo site but we really liked how you could have a title and then an image with a line of text underneath and then a “Read More” link. How do we create this? Is this called a spotlight module or is that something else?
Also we have added the news module and put some items in it but I noticed that on the JA University demo site the news module also has little thumbnails next to the news items like this:
How do you add these thumbnails?
Thanks you once again 🙂

August 8, 2013 at 4:41 am #501580These are custom html modules appear with Spotlight position(from user9 to user12), more detail about the configuration / settings you can find here and look for About T3 Framework, Rich Typography, Responsive Design and Multi Layout
The second your question is related to JA Sidenews Module, also in above userguide, you can find “5. JA Sidenews Module”
Hope it makes senses.
