I wanted to create a site whereby you can go to a number of diferrent sections (Games) and the background images would change.

The solution I got was to simply duplicate the Template and change the name slightly. Then edit the background images and set the Templates to the Sections.

Can you please advise how I can duplicate the template correctly so i do not overwrite an existing one?

You need to download the template folder first and rename it, but before re-uploading, inside the folder you will find a file named “templateDetails.xml” if you open this with notepad you can change the name of the template so that when you re-upload it and check your joomla administration templates area, it will show as a seperate entity. 🙂
